I am reflecting today on social media and its impact on my life. The information input is limitless packaged in quick bits that are forgotten as quickly as it is read. Most of the information we read is useless and inconsequential. Yet it keeps our attention and keep us from deeper reelection and meditation. There is a wat for our minds and the winner is the one that can grasp most of our time. We are programmed in term term of our options and how to think. If we do not wat to be more robotic, we need to cultivate a discipline of significant free time without social media. Sure you might miss out on what your friend ate this morning but how much more can be gained from spending quality time with your own thinking. We are designed by evolution to live in a real world and solve real problems. In terms of blogging, take time to write more and give expression to your own creativity.
An effective way to manage social media is to simply switch your phone into its power saving mode for periods of time. You still have access to your basic phone functions but limited access to social media platforms that can are in any case also power intensive.
