Mankind – A reason for hope

Am I optimistic about mankind’s future?”

History has shown humanity at its worst—cruelty, greed, and suffering are threads woven deeply into our past. There has never been an era untouched by darkness, where evil did not, for a time, seem to prevail.

Yet in every age, there have also been those who refused to surrender to despair. Individuals and movements—guided by courage, wisdom, or compassion—have risen, often at great personal cost, to rekindle the light of progress. Through science, art, service, or sheer moral defiance, they have illuminated paths forward, lifting humanity from stagnation toward higher ideals.

The arc of human consciousness may waver; it may smolder faintly for generations. But again and again, a spark ignites—a new insight, a act of solidarity, a leap of understanding—and the flame surges back to life. This resilience is our birthright. Our capacity to create, to reason, and above all, to love ensures that no darkness is permanent.

So yes, I am optimistic—not because blindness shields me from reality, but because history itself whispers: Humanity stumbles, but it also rises.  And each time we rise, we carry forward the best of what we’ve learned.
