UR: I am aware of the cause of causes

UR is the second rune in the Armanen Futhork, associated with the power of healing. I discovered in my own journey that as I gravitated towards a more esoteric approach, I also got more interested in the healing arts. Today I am an internationally qualified TRE (Trauma/Tension Release Exercises) facilitator and Reiki master. I studied healing modalities in mysticism and I am practicing Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi-gong and mindfullness meditation as a healing modalities. I practice the art of vowel sounds and the six healing healing sounds on a regular basis to maintain my health. For healing to work optimally the base must be in place eating, drinking, sleeping, exercise and correct breathing with moderation is essential for maintaining a healthy body and mind. For the mind a philsoophy of Stoic thinking that embrace the idea of focusing on virtues can inherently improve our ability to life more healthy in life.  I can not overemphasize the value I put on moderation as a central focus for health. People do diets and training programs of all sorts and shift from the one to the other. I maintain that without a habit of moderation all these efforts will only lead to temprary results.

I am not reflecting on this to boost my self worth but rather to demonstrate that my journey is marked by a very definite change in interest in health and the importance of maintaining health as a means to improve our quality of life.  No matter how sick a person is or how bad one’s health is, we can improve our well being by being more aware of natural means available to everybody to improve the level of our health and to live optimally within our restrictions. I do not advocate that anybody must shun modern medicine or avoid their general practitioner. These healing processes is complementary and focused on maintaining a state of health for a longer period.  UR has a very special place for me in the application of the runes and its use since healing eventually becomes more important.

I postulate that the soul is characterised by reason and beauty but I have discovered more and more that “healing” or well being is also an urge of the soul. After all it is our subconsciousmind that relentlessly maintain all the involuntary functions of the body.

UR drills down to the root cause of illness. As a mystic that root cause is not the symptoms doctors use to diagnose an illeness. It is in the psychic body and with that often in the karmic memory that the true cause of an illness begins to manifest. Negative thoughts and emotions has a weakening effect on the psychic body that in turn reduces our ability to resist illness. We can drill to the root cause of an illness by following symptoms but often the true root cause lies on an energetic level of a deeper psychic level. UR is the rune that teaches us to go to these causes that you see when you elevate yourself above the physical plane and look from a metaphysical perspective.

FA, I strengthen my initiative

I started my day with the song of FA this morning. FA is the first rune of the Armanen Futhork’s eighteen runes. The rune songs had been with me for some time as a handbook to a esoteric knowledge. The songs are written down by hand in a notebook. Recently I had a new desire to pick up the rune song and work with it on a deeper level of self. They are precious because only few people have access to them. Even people that is well acquainted with the runes do not even know about their existence. By the method of use, the runes cannot be taken away for the rune Futhork has been mentally established in my mind eye on an all encompassing visual image that cannot be erased, nor forgotten. An animated reality that stretches beyond the mental images of the thinker to the realm of the knower. At any time a rune can be unlocked to flow into the world of the doer, into action and or manifestation.
FA is the rune of initiative, the start of making changes in life. I am reminding myself that where I am in life is my choice, because I have the means to make changes whenever needed. I touch the certainty that I have the initiative to change course at any time. Not merely a mental or physical ability but a force from my own inner core. The impulse that seeds into a force of will. The will to be.
FA is the fiery image of the Phoenix, the energy to rise from the ashes in full splendor, without attachment to that state of blissful expression of mastery. FA brings understanding of the power of initiation. FA animates the force of Aries, go boldly into the unknown and to accept the consequenct risks as well as to reap the rewards. FA is sparked by the knower, accepted by the thinker and expressed by the doer.

Cho Ku Rei and Sei Hei Ki in armanen runes

I was wondering what would be the equivalent of the Cho Ku Rei  and Sei Hei Ki symbols in terms of the Armanen runes…if there is any equivalent.  Cho Ku Rei, activates and amplifies the effectiveness and efficiency of Reiki energy within a specific context. The power symbol contains three principles…the source, the flow and the action of Reiki. Cho Ku Rei is a more general symbol then Sei Hei Ke which  seems to be specific in balancing mind and emotion. The world of feeling and thought …the rational and the irrational.  Apparently the left of the symbol represent structure and the right flow.  So if Cho Ku Rei amplifies and unifies energy then Sei Hei Ki represents the duality of applying Reiki energy in order to find balance and harmony in energies.

In terms of the Armanen Runes I think the following apply:

CHO KU REI = UR-THORN-BAR-HAGAL: To heal, to project, to descend and universal

SEI HEI KI = UR-OS-RIT-EH: To heal, to accept, to flow and cosmic union

HUN SHA ZE SHO NEN = LAF-FA-NOD-GIBOR: Cosmic law, creative energy, to help karma and life

Eleven in divination systems

Today is 11/11 which makes it a special day. I had been thinking about 11 and thought it a worthwhile exercise to relate to the 11 from my own perspective rather than from an numerical perspective alone.
Numerically the number 11 is a prime number which does not make it a very usable number, yet a very unique number. Nothing else can divide into 11. 11 is moving beyond wholeness which is denoted by the number 10.
What do I know about the number 11. In the Tarot the Major Arcana 11 is traditionally Justice, the lady with the scale and a card I have a deep affinity for as a Libra.  Discounting the Fool as card zero judgement is in the middle of the Major Arcana with 10 cards preceding it and 10 cards succeeding it. It depicts 11 as a number of balance which is appropriate for the two one’s making up the 11.  In this analysis the Major Arcana with its 21 cards (discounting the fool) places 11 as an important car for balance. It is also a point of balance between an external and an internal view in the Tarot. The first ten cards are existential and material in nature while the latter ten cards are more essential and cosmological in nature. Thus the number 11 in the tarot represents the touch point of balance in the maxim “As above so below, as below so above.” This is a crucial point of understanding within the Tarot. The number 11 counts to two as one plus one which shows an affinity between the High priestess as Major Arcana II and the Major Arcana XI.  While the High priestess is an initiation into the exoteric Tarot the Justice card associated with Ma’at in the Egyptian pantheon is associated with initiation into the esoteric aspects of the Tarot.
When we turn out gaze to the Elder futhark the eleventh rune is Isa or the point of contraction or stillness. Although this is not the midpoint in the same sense as the Tarot it is a point of stillness like the center point of a wheel turning that is still. This gives to the number 11 a very solid base of stand still which correspond well with the central pillar of a set of scales. The number 11 in this sense calls for a moment of inaction combined with an awareness of the moment. It is not a point for action or progress but rather a turning point moving into a new dimension.
The I-Ching designate the hexagram Tai and relates to harmony or peace. The hexagram itself consist of three unbroken lines at the bottom of the hexagram and three unbroken lines on top of the hexagram. In other words it is the trigram Earth upon the trigram Heavan. Here we see again the idea of balance associated with the number 11 since their is an idea of yielding balancing the firm. It is noteworthy to see that the hexagram is not heaven over earth as what we are used to in our normal experience but it is rather heaven supporting earth.  This is indicative of a turning point, at the 11 th hexagram. It contains an idealistic mystical  perspective where heaven or the ideal becomes the foundation for the earth or the real. That is how harmony or peace is being created. Peace relates here to a similar concept we see in Isa of the Runes and Harmony relates to a similar concept discussed in Justice, major arcana IX, of the Tarot.
Given this short analysis of the role of number 11 in three of the major divination systems it is worth while to say and observe that 11 is a point of stillness calling on a higher awareness, a tipping point that bequest from us to look at life in a new way … that is from an inner perspective of actuality rather than reality. We should find peace, harmony and balance in the number 11 without any effort of making anything happen or desiring anything to happen. It is moment for us to be just fully present and content that life is as it should be in that moment, irrespective of whether it is good or bad times. We also should remember that there is a karmic balance in that good times will not always be good and bad times will not always be bad. Life is a cycle and our peace and harmony we find within. The number 11 reminds us that as above so below the one is reflected in the other.
