~ Cultivating a learning mind ~

My mind is calm, my body is relaxed. I have a heyfever attack, which is causing some discomfort, but the allergy medication I took this morning has not yet taken effect. Nevertheless, my day is calm and relaxed.

I am excited to spend my day in training. I am curious to see what I can learn today, and I hope it is something exciting that will better equip me for the work I do. I am excited by the knowledge that I am still able to learn new things, adapt, and apply the new knowledge I will be receiving.

Learning as a lifestyle has always been a fundamental building block for me. Reading, attending courses, and actively listening to other people are all means to increase knowledge, learn, and grow. Francis Bacon said, “Knowledge is power,” and we are always better off when we are equipped with knowledge, even more so when we are facing uncertainty.

The most clear proof of this is in the practice and application of knowledge. An informed person walks more confidently into a new situation. A person open to learning always adapts more easily when circumstances change. Changing conditions might even at times be experienced as pleasure and enjoyment.

The learning mind is open to the exploration of new possibilities and opportunities. It is flexible and adaptable. I write a lot about balance and harmony, but we must also cultivate an agile mindset that flows with change, that learns and grows, and does not fall behind over time.

Taking it a step further, we can cultivate a mindset that actively seeks to learn something new every day. The willingness and eagerness to grasp every opportunity to learn something of value is a powerful force for personal and professional growth.

~ On virtue and the present moment ~

~ On the Present Moment and Virtue ~

I withdraw into the quiet space of being. My body relaxes, my mind clears. I am all present in this moment.

I explore the universe within. Each virtue is a gift, and I have been cultivating them for many years. Yet I have not even scratched the surface of what is possible.

Today, I cast aside all comparisons with others, past or future. This is a moment for appreciating myself and my qualities, as they are. Nothing more, nothing less.

I know that many have advantages and have advanced further than me in life. But I am on my own path, at my own pace. It is time to simply look at where I am, by myself. Where others are is not important today.

The question to ask is, where am I now? What are the qualities in my life that are meaningful and manifesting? I return to relax in the virtues that I have cultivated. It brings me inner peace, calm, and equanimity.

When I am aligned with virtue, nothing can perturb my satisfaction. Life unfolds with effortless ease. There is no luck, only presence and joyful abundance.

Nothing gives clarity of mind like the lattice of virtue woven into my mind. With every thought, every breath, and every emotion, I am becoming more virtuous. When we enter the inner space, it is virtue that decorates the inner walls and simultaneously gives guidance towards becoming the sage I desire to be. Even if it is just for a moment, I live for the glimpse of what it means to fully embrace virtue in every aspect. I become deeper and more complete.

In my exploration of virtue I can conclude my findings:
– Virtues are not something that we achieve once and for all. They are a lifelong journey, and we will always be growing and learning.
– Virtues are not about being perfect. They are about striving to be the best version of ourselves.
– Virtues are not about being better than others. They are about being better than we were yesterday.
– Virtues are not about being happy all the time. They are about finding peace and contentment in the midst of the ups and downs of life.

~ the hero’s journey ~

I awoke this morning with a sense of hopefulness. I feel that a solution to my current challenges may be at hand, and I am determined to seize it. The timing is propitious, as my Saturn time is approaching, and I am in need of a positive outlook.

I will not allow the negativity of the world to weigh me down. I choose to focus on the narrative that I want to live, and I will make myself the hero of that story. The hero is a figure of strength and resilience, and I will embody those qualities in my own life.

The hero finds support where he lacks it, and builds strong relationships with those who can help him on his journey. He forges ahead even when the outcome is uncertain, and he never gives up, even when he has every reason to do so.

Each day, I add another chapter to the story of my life. I write the story of my hero’s journey, and I breathe life into him with every thought. Life has meaning for me because I am the author of my own story.

Facing the storm

In the midst of troubled waters, we must prepare our ship to the best of our ability. The wise person prepares for the storm, rather than focusing on the storm itself. The better the ship is prepared and maintained, the more likely it is to survive the violence ahead. When the storm cannot be avoided, there is no point in worrying about it or trying to change its course. The only prudent course of action is to ensure that everything on the ship is in full working order.

While the seas are still calm and the storm is brewing on the horizon, a calm mind prepares for the challenges ahead. Remember with confidence the skill and capability of the skipper, and trust in the integrity of the design of the ship. Courage is not about rushing into the storm, but about having confidence in your readiness to face the storm when it cannot be avoided.

The storm is entered with a vision of the safe harbor beyond the storm, which will bring refreshment and restoration. Confidence placed in readiness and vision gives power and wisdom to brace the storm and navigate through it successfully. Courage is a well-placed confidence that preparation and readiness have shifted the odds of success in favor of survival and ultimate victory.

So, if you are facing a challenge or fear, don’t despair. Prepare yourself for the storm, and then face it with confidence. Remember that you are not alone, and that you have the strength and courage to overcome any obstacle.
