The call of the Hermit
Resounding through the air
Bouncing deep within
An echo undeniable
Thrashing the silence
Ripping violently through stillness.
The yearning so long suppressed
Released from Pandora’s box
A wild spirit untamed crushing
Through mind and limb
Leave debris behind in a stench
Why was the call ignored?
Till the pressure burst through weakness
Procrastination the idle delay
Thrust forward inevitable play
A command for boldness
The cave draws the spirit in
The darkness of loneliness an inviting friend
Where thirst for being can be quenched
Where self can be put first
The sacrifice of others in demand
The reward is to know thyself
Contemplation to be without concern
Allowing the selfish snake to raise its head
But learning to fend for self
Survival is key
Sing a song of praise to those that has gone before
Who left behind the touch and smiles
To venture alone and enter the open spaces within
The path is not unique. Others has led the way
Destiny to be filled when it is nature’s call
