You have three magic genie wishes, what are you asking for?
If I had three wishes, I’d wish for the power to help, to heal, and to protect.
To help, to heal, to protect
Imagine a world where everyone had the ability to lend a helping hand, to soothe a troubled soul, and to shield the innocent. This is the world I aspire to, a world where compassion, courage, and kindness reign supreme.
With the power to help, I could alleviate suffering, inspire hope, and uplift those around me. I would strive to be a beacon of light, offering support and encouragement to all who cross my path. The power to heal would allow me to mend broken hearts, soothe troubled minds, and restore balance to the world. I would dedicate myself to nurturing the well-being of others, both physically and emotionally.
Finally, the power to protect would enable me to safeguard the vulnerable, defend the oppressed, and uphold justice. I would stand as a guardian of peace and harmony, shielding others from harm and striving for a world where everyone feels safe and secure.
By embodying these three powers, I believe we can create a more compassionate, just, and harmonious world. Let us all strive to help, heal, and protect, and together, we can make a positive impact on the world.
This morning, meditating on LAF, rune of primal water of connection, I saw us drawn together like thirsty creatures. Yet, beneath our shared need, each carries the unique wellspring of UR, our individual essence. It is from this authentic depth that we contribute to the collective will, THORN, a shared flame ignited by our diverse sparks.
But unity can be fragile. My journey reflects this. Waking in peaceful contemplation, the 18 runes breathing within, I encountered a minor event that triggered an emotional storm. The ego, swift and reactive, nearly snatched me from serenity. Though control was regained, the ease of this disruption highlights my ongoing growth.
A smile, instead of anger, could have preserved that inner peace. This stability is crucial for integrating my individuality into the collective, for my emotions must flow from the integrated self.
Shared Ground, Individual Journeys:
Engaging with others involves recognizing our shared human backdrop, often hidden, shaping our present moments. In moments of unity, we can choose to set aside our individual stories for a shared focus, a temporary common identity that becomes our soul’s focus for that time.
This unified focus allows us to align our intention towards the common good, understanding that supporting shared values fosters individual growth. The group’s unity, though fragile, is nurtured through conscious effort, creating fertile ground for collective and individual prosperity.
We become a united energy force, amplifying each other’s strength and capacity to project our individual wills with greater impact. Like a bonfire fueled by diverse branches, our unique flames combine to create a warmth and brilliance that benefits all.
Each day I awaken with the untamed potential of a wild ox, brimming with raw, primal energy. This energy, initially chaotic and uncertain, finds direction through my vision and intention. Just as I rise to meet the needs of my future self, I channel this potent force into a constructive flow, transforming it from a bull in a china shop into a magnificent steed galloping towards my destiny.
Though the journey begins in the embrace of untamed potential, it’s through commitment and focused action that I shape this power into a force for good. By settling in being and unwavering will, I refine the raw energy into a focused current, propelling me towards the vision of my future self.
This transformation unfolds with each deliberate step, each choice made with my future in mind. The once untamed beast becomes a trusted companion, my ally in carving out the path towards my ultimate goals. So, I rise each day, embracing the wild within, knowing that it holds the key to forging the future I desire.
Do you sometimes just feel irritable for no reason? I slept well, but I found myself surprisingly easily irritable on this lovely morning. Even small, insignificant things seemed to shake my equilibrium.
I’m dismayed at how easily non-consequential events can upset me. I was frustrated for example because my normally cute dog, did not want to go outside. When I called her. Consequently, this morning, I’m working at transforming this uncool sense of irritability within me.
It’s a beautiful morning outside, the sun is shining, and there is no rain. I have no immediate pressures on me, yet I feel irritable. I don’t understand the source of this irritability, but I know that I can redirect its energy into calmness, focus, and a deliberate mindset.
Rather than being caught up in the disturbance, I am raising myself above the situation to bring calm within myself. I do this by visualizing the situation and it’s outcome as it would play out without the irritability. By rethinking the situation and seeing the new outcome within me and the feeling of calm within me I am reprogramming my mind to react differently and more in line with my values and ethics. This visualization along with a reflection on the virtues I aspire to bring into my life, are powerful transformative techniques. I use these techniques to reframe my thinking and emotive reaction to life circumstances.
This rune IS is very appropriate for this exercise, as it assists me today to focus and put the storm to rest before it even begins.
Anger, irritability, and frustration: I abandon and reject. In exchange, I invite in peace, calm, and focus.
I bring the light of my inner consciousness to shine within me. The anger and frustration burn away and dissolve. I am calm. I am at peace.
I smile at the newfound strength of my inner being as it rises up and fills my essence and spills over into my existence. I am the power of the wild beast that stands proudly in field unperturbed by the storm clouds that gather on the horizon. This metaphor, borrowed from the rune UR, helps me to further strengthen the picture that I envision for myself of the calmness that overwrite all traces of irritability.
Are you sitting with feelings you no longer want as attachments? Take time out and reframe your experience and create new patterns of thought for your mind to venture on. With repeated use new neuropathways are developed for the impulsive mind to follow. Ultimately the pathways you no longer want, like irritability, will no longer be an option. What you do want , like the pathway of calmness, will become your default.
UR is the second rune in the Armanen Futhork, associated with the power of healing. I discovered in my own journey that as I gravitated towards a more esoteric approach, I also got more interested in the healing arts. Today I am an internationally qualified TRE (Trauma/Tension Release Exercises) facilitator and Reiki master. I studied healing modalities in mysticism and I am practicing Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi-gong and mindfullness meditation as a healing modalities. I practice the art of vowel sounds and the six healing healing sounds on a regular basis to maintain my health. For healing to work optimally the base must be in place eating, drinking, sleeping, exercise and correct breathing with moderation is essential for maintaining a healthy body and mind. For the mind a philsoophy of Stoic thinking that embrace the idea of focusing on virtues can inherently improve our ability to life more healthy in life. I can not overemphasize the value I put on moderation as a central focus for health. People do diets and training programs of all sorts and shift from the one to the other. I maintain that without a habit of moderation all these efforts will only lead to temprary results.
I am not reflecting on this to boost my self worth but rather to demonstrate that my journey is marked by a very definite change in interest in health and the importance of maintaining health as a means to improve our quality of life. No matter how sick a person is or how bad one’s health is, we can improve our well being by being more aware of natural means available to everybody to improve the level of our health and to live optimally within our restrictions. I do not advocate that anybody must shun modern medicine or avoid their general practitioner. These healing processes is complementary and focused on maintaining a state of health for a longer period. UR has a very special place for me in the application of the runes and its use since healing eventually becomes more important.
I postulate that the soul is characterised by reason and beauty but I have discovered more and more that “healing” or well being is also an urge of the soul. After all it is our subconsciousmind that relentlessly maintain all the involuntary functions of the body.
UR drills down to the root cause of illness. As a mystic that root cause is not the symptoms doctors use to diagnose an illeness. It is in the psychic body and with that often in the karmic memory that the true cause of an illness begins to manifest. Negative thoughts and emotions has a weakening effect on the psychic body that in turn reduces our ability to resist illness. We can drill to the root cause of an illness by following symptoms but often the true root cause lies on an energetic level of a deeper psychic level. UR is the rune that teaches us to go to these causes that you see when you elevate yourself above the physical plane and look from a metaphysical perspective.
