……..sorry, I forgot to include ….and deduction. Plato was among the first philosophers to seriously propose Rational Deduction as the only true path to truth. Modern philosophers often consider his reasoning old-fashioned and simplistic, but it is still pretty much the standard for Scientific Proof.

Plato’s “Cave analogy” is most often interpreted, I believe, as his belief that being “chained by our senses and opinions” keeps us from seeing the truth of reality which could only be obtained through rational thinking and understanding.

I really like the painting. It was helpful to see the golden ration superimposed over it.
