Postures of Purpose: Reimagining Exercise”

What are your favorite physical activities or exercises?

Have you ever imagined using your body as a living, breathing symbol? That’s exactly what I do through rune yoga, a fascinating practice that blends physical movement with ancient Norse symbolism. Before you dismiss this as something weird or mystical, let me explain how this unique form of exercise has transformed my understanding of movement and energy.

Rune yoga is an intriguing practice that uses the human body to create runic symbols – an ancient Norse writing script – while simultaneously channeling and absorbing what practitioners believe to be runic energy. Unlike typical exercise routines focused solely on physical fitness, rune yoga is a holistic discipline that connects body, mind, and what some describe as subtle energy fields.

Armanen rune yoga postures

The practice centers around 18 key Armanen rune postures that might look simple at first glance. Take the FA rune, for example. It involves standing upright with hands lifted diagonally, the left hand slightly higher than the right, forming a specific shape that represents flow and original fire. What makes this practice unique is that holding these poses isn’t just about physical endurance – it’s about experiencing an internal energetic process.

While this might sound unusual to modern ears, rune yoga offers a different perspective on physical exercise. Instead of counting repetitions or burning calories, practitioners focus on energy flow and personal transformation. The practice recognizes five different energy fields, ranging from subterranean earth energies to cosmic celestial forces. Each rune posture is believed to interact with these fields differently, potentially influencing the practitioner’s mental and emotional state.

What sets rune yoga apart is its philosophical approach. Where most exercise routines target physical achievement, this practice aims to develop personal integrity, balance, and a sense of purpose. It’s less about how your body looks and more about how it feels and functions as an integrated system.

I understand this might sound strange to those unfamiliar with alternative movement practices. Modern society often disconnects our physical experience from deeper energetic and spiritual dimensions. Rune yoga invites practitioners to reconnect, to see the body not just as a machine, but as a dynamic, responsive system capable of profound transformation.

Of course, like any practice involving energy work, individual experiences vary. What feels profound to one person might seem peculiar to another. The key is to approach it with an open mind and personal curiosity.

Intrigued by rune yoga? Curious to explore this unique practice that blends physical movement, ancient symbolism, and energy work? I’m always excited to share more about my journey and help others discover this transformative approach to movement. Whether you’re a seasoned yoga practitioner or someone simply looking to expand your understanding of holistic exercise, I’d love to connect. Feel free to reach out to me in a comment to learn more, ask questions, or potentially experience a rune yoga session together. Every body has a story to tell, and rune yoga might just help you tell yours.

Ancient Wisdom, Modern Wellness

What is your favorite form of physical exercise?

Jogging and the gym were never my thing, sport a silly spectacle. But I discovered the grace of movement. I flowed with Tai Chi, sinking low to feel the energy ebb and flow. I bent the tree and allowed Hatha Yoga to breathe in me. I tried walking the dogs, but they caught some fleas…

But exercise is important, so I found my groove in Stadgaldr, or rune postures. Eighteen postures, each the nature of a rune, combined with breathing, balance, and concentration tone the body, mind, and soul. Persistence over time is the only goal. Each position is so easy to hold, but keeps each for ten minutes, and miracles unfold.

The mind quickens, mindfulness expands, and a feeling of well-being fills each limb and cell. This is no ordinary way but feeds from the magnetic force of earth and sun, flowing, connecting, and increasing.
The nervous system calms, the energy collects without waste, and the chakras clear. Any time, anywhere, at no cost, I can do my rune yoga. It gives me a kick and wake-up call, surpassing any energy drink’s buzz.

With each rune posture, I tap into an ancient wisdom, harnessing the power of the universe. It’s a quiet revolution, a personal alchemy that transforms stress into serenity, fatigue into vitality. This practice, rooted in the earth and reaching for the stars, has become my secret weapon, empowering me to face life’s challenges with grace and strength.

I need more earth alignment

What could you do more of?

In today’s fast-paced world, prioritizing our time is crucial. As someone who practices rune meditation and coaching, I’ve found that combining these two disciplines brings profound benefits. One technique that resonates with me is the IS Rune meditation, developed by Kummer.
This unique meditation stands out because it’s practiced standing upright, focusing on the entire body. Unlike other meditations that concentrate on breathing, hands, or compassion, IS Rune meditation synchronizes our body’s frequency with the Earth’s electromagnetic field.

The human body is inherently connected to the Earth’s magnetic field. Our heart generates an electric current that flows through every cell, creating an electromagnetic field that extends beyond our physical body. By aligning our frequency with the Earth’s, we can tap into its balancing effects.
Regular IS Rune meditation practice offers numerous benefits. It grounds us, fostering a deeper connection to nature and countering the disorienting effects of modern life. This practice also calms the mind, reducing stress and anxiety, and enhances mental clarity.
Beyond physical benefits, IS Rune meditation nurtures spiritual growth and self-awareness. By consciously aligning with the Earth’s energy, we can experience a profound sense of connection to something greater than ourselves. This expanded awareness reveals our purpose, values, and place in the world.
Many practitioners attest to the transformative power of IS Rune meditation, reporting increased calmness, grounding, and intuition. By incorporating this simple yet powerful practice into your daily routine, you may discover a renewed sense of balance, peace, and well-being.

A cocktail of vibrational upliftment!

What things give you energy?

Feeling tired? Want to try something new to boost your energy? My answer is Rune yoga or Rune gymnastics! Language is powerful, and symbols that resemble sound in the form of letters are even more so! Rune yoga emulates these symbols, representing speech. But it’s not just about the sounds; each symbol carries deep cosmic meaning.
Confused? Here’s how it works: The old Norse developed a writing system called runes. They used it like we use an alphabet today. But these symbols weren’t just for writing; they were steeped in an ancient cosmology of energies available to humans. Each rune is filled with vibrational energy we can tap into.
By mimicking the specific rune with our bodies and chanting its sound, we enter a space of vibrational transformative energies that revitalizes mind and body! Imagine it as an energy cocktail you can drink that gives you an extra boost of feeling good!

Accessing vibrational energy through body postures

What’s amazing is that different runes access different energy fields. Some ground us, while others lift our mood and spirit. It’s like a piano keyboard: different keys represent different notes, and different runes result in different health benefits. We just need to learn each rune’s effect to play a melody of inner well-being.
I’m sure there are many ways to boost your energy through diet, sleep, exercise, etc. But for me, it’s delving into the arcane art of Rune postures and their frequencies.
Imagine yourself standing in a quiet room, bathed in soft, natural light. You close your eyes and take a deep breath, feeling the cool air fill your lungs. As you exhale, you begin to chant the rune FA, ffffffffffffaaa, its sound echoing through your mind and body.
Your body takes on the shape of the rune, your arms outstretched like branches reaching for the sky. You can feel the tension melting away from your muscles, replaced by a sense of calm and centeredness. The vibration of the rune’s sound seems to pulsate through your entire being, a comforting warmth spreading through your chest.
As you continue to chant, you visualize the rune’s meaning: wealth and abundance. You can almost taste the sweetness of success, the feeling of satisfaction that comes from achieving your goals. The rune’s energy fills you with a sense of optimism and hope, a belief that good things are coming your way.
Rune yoga is more than just physical exercise; it’s a journey of self-discovery and spiritual growth. By connecting with the ancient wisdom of the runes, you can tap into a powerful source of energy and unlock your full potential.

Hacking My Day: Habits for Happiness and Creativity

What are your daily habits?

~ Hacking My Day: Habits for Happiness and Creativity ~

Habits are like tiny bursts of rocket fuel that propel us towards a smoother, more fulfilling day. I wholeheartedly believe in the power of cultivating beneficial habits that I enjoy. However, habits can also become mindless routines or sources of anxiety if we get too rigid. To keep things interesting and avoid burnout, I find it essential to incorporate variety into my daily rituals.

The first hour after waking up is my golden time. I seize this opportunity to jumpstart my creativity through automatic writing, blogging, or contemplation. To prime my mind for inspiration, I begin with a quick autogenic relaxation exercise, followed by at least ten minutes of free-flowing writing. Imagine me, diving headfirst into my creativity like an enthusiastic swimmer on a hot summer’s day!

Before my morning shower, I take a moment to program myself with the five Reiki spiritual principles. I commit to staying enthusiastic, calm, grateful, honorable, and compassionate. Each principle is reinforced with a corresponding rune posture and chant. This establishes a positive foundation for the day ahead.

After showering, I light a candle to symbolize the kindling of light, life force, and love. Then, I perform a three-rune reading to identify the energetic forces that will influence my day. I interpret the runes using the law of three: affirmation, reception, and reconciliation. This practice injects a sense of adventure into my day, allowing me to tap into my creativity and courage.

Before diving into work, I take a quick moment to check my calendar and plan my day. This helps me prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact.

At midday, I steal away for a minimum of 20 minutes of meditation. Depending on the day, moon cycle, and season, I might use Gassho meditation as a base and branch out to Zazen, Metta, or Yoga Nidra.

Evenings are for self-care. Ideally, I unwind with some breathing exercises followed by a 36-minute rune yoga routine that incorporates chanting, postures, and mantras. If I have a specific goal in mind, I might tailor the rune sequence to emphasize my intention.

Before calling it a day, I take a moment to express gratitude by journaling in my Dailio app, which I use to track habits and mood. To wind down, I spend 10 minutes reading an inspirational book or scripture.

As I drift off to sleep, I choose one of three practices:
Visualizing peace, health, and happiness for loved ones and the world.
Recalling the day in reverse, starting from the present moment and journeying back to the morning.
Active listening, which involves focused breathing followed by listening to white noise.

These are the daily habits that fuel my life. While I don’t always follow the exact routine, I find that structuring my day around these rituals brings me the greatest peace, happiness, and sense of connection.
