What’s the biggest risk you’d like to take — but haven’t been able to?
Okay, folks, let’s get real. I’ve been thinking… maybe it’s time to chuck it all. The rat race, the hustle and bustle, the daily grind. It’s exhausting! So, here’s a crazy idea: let’s start a meditation center. Imagine it: a tranquil oasis where people can escape the chaos, find their inner peace, and recharge their batteries. A place where young and old can come together to discover their true selves and step into the future with renewed confidence.
I’m talking about a real meditation haven, not one of those corporate-sponsored mindfulness retreats. This is going to be the ultimate chill zone. Think plush cushions, soothing music, and maybe even a few friendly llamas wandering around. (Okay, maybe the llamas are a bit much, but you get the idea.)
I’m not sure if I’m crazy or just incredibly brave, but I’m ready to take this leap of faith. Wish me luck (and maybe send me some positive vibes). After all, if I don’t jump off this cliff, how will I ever discover my wings?
Your life without a computer: what does it look like?
Books, maps, shopping – without computers?
A life without computers? Impossible? You’re giving away your age, my young friend. I grew up in the heyday when none of these fancy gadgets existed. It’s not a dream from the stone age for me but a lived reality!
A life without computers was filled with the textured feeling and smell of a new book in your hands. Books were like the e-readers of their time, but without a screen.
There was the excitement of waiting for a newspaper to arrive at your doorstep. We actually had to go out to buy groceries and other items. Shopping was a social activity where people gathered to touch, feel, and taste products before buying them.
We could still remember our way to an address or figure out how to get to an end destination with a map. We had to fold them up and stuff them in our pockets. It was like a real-life adventure every time we went somewhere.
We met in parks, gave each other real hugs and heard our friends actually laughing. When we did not like something they did we told them straight in their face. Our friendships were real…. Authentic!
It’s easy to take for granted all the conveniences and tools we have today, from smartphones to food delivery apps to e-books. But it’s also important to remember that there was a lot of charm and simplicity in life before computers.
You might see boredom and lack in a life without computers, but let me tell you it was a life of many blessings. The skills and dexterity of times gone by might be forever lost for future generations.
What personality trait in people raises a red flag with you?
As a Libra, peace and harmony are my jam. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt until you prove me wrong. Trust me, I’m a fair person, but if you cross me, I’ll level the playing field. And believe me, you won’t like it.
Now, before you write me off as a gullible hippy, let’s get one thing straight: I’m not blind. I have my radar tuned. Unkindness is a major red flag. If you hurt animals or disrespect the elderly or weak, I’m out. And don’t even try to pull the wool over my eyes. I can see right through you.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a pushover. I’ve got a keen eye for red flags. My hackles will rise faster than a cat’s tail at a vacuum cleaner. I’m reading you, my friend, and the slightest hint of arrogance will throw my scales completely out of whack.
So, let’s keep things peaceful, shall we? Respect my vibe, and we’ll all be chill. But mess with the Libra law, and you’ll face the wrath of the zodiac. Trust me, you won’t want to be on the receiving end of Libra-crazy karma.
Life is too short for arguments and animosity. We have limited time to love and be loved, to build, care, and serve.
Love is the foundation of a happy and fulfilling life. It is the energy that binds us together and gives us a sense of purpose. When we love others, we are opening ourselves up to the possibility of being loved in return. This can be a vulnerable experience, but it is also one of the most rewarding.
I choose with determination today not to defile my life with negative vibes and thoughts projected to me. I hold on to the hope that love is stronger than hate and criticism.
I know from experience that it is difficult not to lash back when someone’s behavior is unfair. It takes courage to act from compassion and to continue to live within a strong flow of fellow kindness.
Compassion is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another person. It is a powerful force for good in the world. When we are compassionate, we are able to connect with others on a deep level and offer them support and understanding. This can help to heal old wounds and build bridges between people.
Yes, we need to set boundaries against the misuse and abuse of kindness. But we need not make those boundaries boundaries against the flow of nurturing and understanding. Our hearts can still be open while setting strong barriers to maintain our own integrity and well-being.
The barrier itself is not the challenge. It is the motivation and emotions we put in place to establish the boundary that matters. A boundary that pushes people away like hate and anger is inherently destructive and leads to isolation. A boundary that still allows for the free flow of compassion allows us to remain present for others and to serve and nurture without the need for any return or recognition.
We give freely what is within our power to give. We maintain a harmony and coherence that is free from external influences. Justice requires boundaries, and we uphold those boundaries for optimal social cohesion. Courage and compassion allow us to maintain the presence that facilitates optimal conditions to restore peace and re-establish harmony and balance.
Forgiveness and tolerance are the magical gateways to find peace and create an environment conducive for love and understanding.
Forgiveness is the act of letting go of anger and resentment. It is not always easy to forgive, but it is essential for living a peaceful and joyful life. When we forgive others, we are freeing ourselves from the burden of negative emotions. This can help us to move on and live our lives to the fullest.
I take this day to renew my commitment to inner peace and to the expression of that peace into the world around me. It is not an easy task, but it is one ever worthy of striving to complete with perfection and dedication. I am grateful this morning for the discipline to seek expression for my most noble thoughts through my writing. May the thoughts grow ever stronger and flow more forcefully into actions and behaviour to shape my character.
I believe that love, compassion, and forgiveness are the keys to a happy and fulfilling life. I encourage you to cultivate these qualities in your own life and to share them with others. Together, we can create a world that is more loving, compassionate, and forgiving.
Thank you Amira for sharing with us, on WordPress, your spiritual journey and discovery of beauty.
DAY ONE QUOTE:
“The real Freemason is distinguished from the rest of mankind by the uniform unrestrained rectitude of his conduct. Other men are honest in the fear of the punishment which the law might inflict; they are religious in expectation of being rewarded, or in dread of the devil, in the next world. A Freemason would be just if there were no laws, human or divine, except those which are written in his heart by the finger of his Creator. In every climate, under every system of religion, he is the same. He kneels before the universal throne of God, in gratitude for the blessings he has received, and in humble solicitation for his future protection. He venerates the good men of all religions. He disturbs not the religion of others. He restrains his passions, because they cannot be indulged without injuring his neighbor or himself. He gives no offense, because he does not choose to be offended. He contracts no debts which he is not certain that he can discharge, because he is honest upon principle.” – Source: Farmer’s almanac 1823 ____
I chose this quote because I found it inspirational the idea of being principled from within rather that being driven from an external force or influence. I am not a freemason myself, but I can certainly appreciate the intent behind this quote that calls for inner fortitude that stand strong at all times and yet not from arrogance but within an honest humility. If all men could stand firm on the basis of inner resolve, then the world will be so much more a better place to live in. So the quote stands for me as an ideal to live for and to apply into my own life without adding a label to me of a freemason. There are many different perspectives on what the freemasons stand for and there integrity but I have to look at this quote in isolation, separate from the organisation that it is linked to. I read it and I hear a call that is heard by my deeper self and I acknowledge that it brings inspiration to me.
