Finding Peace in Imperfection: A Practical Guide to Self-Love and Growth

What is one thing you would change about yourself?

I’m a work in progress, just like everyone else. I’m happy with who I am, flaws and all. Sure, I procrastinate sometimes, and I could be fitter. But when I really want something, I make it happen.

We all have limitations, and some things are harder to change than others. No amount of effort will turn someone with a broad frame into a supermodel. So, if you can’t change something, embrace it! Find the humor in it or simply make the best of it. Self-acceptance and self-care bring more joy than constant striving.

My philosophy is simple: if you want to change, set your intention, build new habits, and be patient. Change takes time and effort. If you can’t change something, accept it and find a way to turn it into a strength.

Here’s a powerful tool that works both ways: visualization. When you want to change, visualize your goal as if it’s already achieved. This will energize you and propel you forward. If you can’t change something, visualize it positively. Your imagination is limitless. Don’t dwell on what you lack; instead, focus on what you want. Visualization can shift your mindset and make it easier to accept your circumstances.

So, I urge you: stop chasing after what you don’t have. Either make a plan to change or accept yourself. The key to happiness in both scenarios is the power of visualization. A cat cannot become a dog but they can visualize it!

True well-being encompasses physical, mental, and spiritual aspects. Self-care is simply the act of creating time for practices that nurture you and promote growth.

For me, the ancient practice of runes has become a powerful tool for self-discovery and actualization. Runes are a set of symbols, each with rich meanings that touch upon various aspects of life. Rune practice offers a unique blend of techniques to create a holistic approach to well-being.
Enhancing physical well-being rune yoga combines postures that mimic the shapes of the runes with focused breathing exercises and concentration. This gentle practice brings the body and breath into harmony, promoting physical well-being.
To sharpen sharpen the Mind and reframing t houghts rune meditation incorporates mantras (chants) and visualization. Focusing on these mantras fosters a positive mindset and helps reframe negative thought patterns.
Spiritually the runes are gateways for exploring our inner world and purpose. The runes hold a symbolic language that delves into life’s deeper questions about purpose, destiny, and the interconnectedness of all things. Contemplating these symbolic meanings can bring a sense of peace and connection to something larger than oneself leading to inner coherency, integrity and  harmful my of being.
Rune practice has become my personal toolbox for self-care. It offers a unique blend of physical postures, breathing exercises, meditation, and exploration of deeper meanings. If you’re looking for a way to nurture your well-being on all levels, consider embarking on your own journey of self-discovery with the runes.

The Hero’s Journey: Embracing My Cracks and Weaknesses

I feel a deep presence in both work and love, and the pressure shows through my cracks and weaknesses. It’s time for shadow work and to acknowledge that I am still far from perfection and as I age these weaknesses might show even more clearly. However, I continue to make adjustments until I can no longer avoid the inevitable. I remain accountable for my life and responsible for my actions. I will continue to carry the best interests of those who depend on me.

To acknowledge weakness is not a flae, nor a sign of pessimism or depression. Knowing yourself means knowing truly and deeply who you are, in the full picture of your being. Knowing your weaknesses also helps you to appreciate the strength that you have to cope with those weaknesses. I appreciate more than ever these silent moments of getting in touch with my inner soul, and even my own demons. I am at peace with this moment, and I am gentle with myself. I take care of my own inner spirit so that it can be of service to humanity and those around me, whether appreciated by others or not.

I have no argument to make people love me. I can only set myself on the best path that I can muster, one that will serve the greater good of all. I have no expectations from others, as their reactions and actions are beyond my control. For me, there are only open arms to embrace when I can extend love and service to those around me. I don’t need love to love, or respect to respect. I take care of myself so that I can be loving and resilient in the love that I give.

That is the hero’s journey – to be true to myself. It is to live to the best of my ability, to attain my destiny. Today, I will do both and I will do the best that I can, striving to be impeccable rather than perfect.
