The Golden Balance: A Harmonious Vision for Team Identity and Excellence

If you started a sports team, what would the colors and mascot be?

My team’s colors are a harmonious blend: 61.81% red and 38.19% gold. Red symbolizes boldness, energy, and the fiery drive to confront challenges head-on—a warning to opponents. Gold, by contrast, embodies excellence, perfection, and the striving to transcend limits. Together, these colors reflect the golden mean: a dynamic balance that favors the vigor and determination of the red fire while grounding it in the disciplined pursuit of greatness symbolized by gold.

In the context of a sports team, this balance tilts toward the physical and mental domains of energy, power, and victory. Red, the fire element, ignites the will to achieve optimal performance, while gold tempers this fire, serving as a reminder that true greatness is forged through balance and precision. Gold’s alchemical resonance evokes the transformation of the ordinary into the extraordinary, grounding ambition in a quest for perfection.

Two mascots unite the team’s spirit: the caracal and the golden earth dragon. The caracal, sleek and agile, represents the fire’s unleashed power and grace, embodying the 38.19% of acknowledging individual prowess. The golden dragon, steadfast and wise, symbolizes 61.81% of the team’s grounding in virtue and collective strength. This intentional inversion of ratios between the colors and mascots creates a perfect harmony between outward action and inward essence.

The red and gold colors signify the external dynamism of teamwork—fierce competitiveness balanced by the pursuit of excellence. Simultaneously, the mascots reflect the inner dynamic of the team: the caracal’s individual grace complements the dragon’s collective wisdom. Together, they form a unified expression of the team’s identity, balancing ambition with virtue, and fire with grounding.

This philosophy, rooted in the principles of the golden mean, offers a model for all areas of life. By striking a balance and finding a counterbalance, we achieve harmony in our pursuits, guided by the interplay of energy, striving, and inner strength.

The Power of Simplification

What could you do less of?

I’ve been wrestling with a profound insight: sometimes, doing less is the key to achieving more. It might sound counterintuitive, but simplifying can be a powerful strategy for clarity and effectiveness.

When complexity entangles our thoughts, the solution is often to strip things down to their essence. While it’s true that some nuanced topics require intricate understanding, simplicity offers a more practical approach. Complex systems can trap us in endless mental gymnastics, whereas a simplified perspective allows for clearer thinking and action.

Do less complexity and more simplicity

Simplification doesn’t mean being reductive—it means being strategic. By cutting away unnecessary elements that don’t add value, we create space for what truly matters. Think of it like sculpting: removing the excess reveals the beautiful form underneath.

This doesn’t mean discarding beauty or depth. Instead, seek elegance in simplicity. Find the golden ratio between straightforward understanding and necessary complexity—perhaps around 60-40, where simplicity leads and nuance supports.

The result? Clarity emerges like muddy water settling, making it easier to set targets and chart a clear direction. By embracing simplification, we can transform overwhelming complexity into manageable, actionable insights.
It’s very simple: Simplicity is not about being simplistic. It’s about finding the most direct path to understanding and effectiveness.

Peaks of Transformation: Exploring the Plasticity of Matter and the Elasticity of Spirit

Do you have a favorite place you have visited? Where is it?

Drakensberg under snow

My two favorite places that I visited are Cathedral Peak, South Africa and Templo da boa Vontada in Brasilië.
The frozen breath of winter clung to the air as I ascended Cathedral Peak, its jagged silhouette rising from the snow-draped Drakensberg Mountains. Each step was a test of endurance, yet the reward transcended the physical. At dawn, I emerged from my tent to a panorama that defied description: Frozen waterfalls, snow filled escarpment, a sea of clouds stretched to the horizon, the sun igniting the sky with gold and crimson hues. In that moment of sublime stillness, I felt an unspoken connection to the natural world, an awe that resonated deep within.

40 years later, in the heart of Brasília, I encountered a different kind of peak at the Templo da Boa Vontade. This spiritual sanctuary, with its labyrinthine pathways and pyramid-shaped dome, exuded a serene energy that invited introspection. Beneath the crystal dome, I performed ancient postures, immersing myself in the sacred geometry and celestial symbols surrounding me. In that space of profound quiet, I felt the vastness of the universe and awakened to my own potential, recognizing the interconnectedness of all existence.

Though these experiences were vastly different, they converged in their significance. Cathedral Peak challenged my physical limits, a testament to the plasticity of the material world. The mountain, once an impassable barrier, yielded to determination, proving that the physical realm is neither fixed nor immutable but malleable under human effort. In contrast, the Templo da Boa Vontade illuminated the elasticity of the spiritual world. Its sacred energy and timeless symbols expanded my consciousness, offering a glimpse into a realm unbound by physical constraints—a place where growth and transformation are limitless.

Together, these moments embody the duality and unity of existence. The material and spiritual realms are not distinct but deeply intertwined, each shaping and responding to the other. By embracing the plasticity of the physical world and the boundless elasticity of the spiritual, we find resilience in challenges and joy in opportunities. These peaks, both literal and metaphorical, serve as touchstones in my journey, reminding me of life’s extraordinary potential.

A Renaissance Soul: My Many Hats and Passions

Share five things you’re good at.

I’ve always been fascinated by the interplay of systems and the hidden forces that drive them. As an Industrial Engineer, I’ve honed my skills in analyzing complex processes and optimizing outcomes. This analytical mindset has extended beyond the professional realm, allowing me to delve into the mystical and esoteric.

I’m a proud Grand Runemaster of the Knights of Runes, skilled in the ancient wisdom of the Armanen Futhorkh. I’ve applied this knowledge to various aspects of my life, from meditation and divination to practical magic. My contributions to the Knights of Runes’ annual journal, the Futhorkh, reflect my passion for sharing this knowledge with others.

My journey with Toastmasters International has further refined my communication and leadership skills. I’ve had the privilege of inspiring audiences both locally and internationally, sharing insights from both my professional and spiritual experiences.

As a leader, I’ve guided numerous individuals towards personal and professional growth. I’ve mentored and coached, empowering others to live authentically and achieve their full potential. Whether it’s through one-on-one sessions, group workshops, or simply offering words of encouragement, I’ve cultivated a toolbox of effective strategies to inspire and motivate.

Ultimately, my greatest strength lies in my ability to see the bigger picture while simultaneously paying attention to the details. I’m a skilled synthesizer, capable of bridging seemingly disparate ideas and uncovering new perspectives. This systems thinking approach has allowed me to help countless individuals reach their full potential.

Industrial engineering, Public speaking, Leadership, Systems thinking and Rune mastery is my thing!

While I’ve achieved various accomplishments, I believe that true fulfillment comes from living authentically and embodying one’s values. External achievements are fleeting, but the qualities of the soul are timeless.

Finding Peace in Imperfection: A Practical Guide to Self-Love and Growth

What is one thing you would change about yourself?

I’m a work in progress, just like everyone else. I’m happy with who I am, flaws and all. Sure, I procrastinate sometimes, and I could be fitter. But when I really want something, I make it happen.

We all have limitations, and some things are harder to change than others. No amount of effort will turn someone with a broad frame into a supermodel. So, if you can’t change something, embrace it! Find the humor in it or simply make the best of it. Self-acceptance and self-care bring more joy than constant striving.

My philosophy is simple: if you want to change, set your intention, build new habits, and be patient. Change takes time and effort. If you can’t change something, accept it and find a way to turn it into a strength.

Here’s a powerful tool that works both ways: visualization. When you want to change, visualize your goal as if it’s already achieved. This will energize you and propel you forward. If you can’t change something, visualize it positively. Your imagination is limitless. Don’t dwell on what you lack; instead, focus on what you want. Visualization can shift your mindset and make it easier to accept your circumstances.

So, I urge you: stop chasing after what you don’t have. Either make a plan to change or accept yourself. The key to happiness in both scenarios is the power of visualization. A cat cannot become a dog but they can visualize it!
